Metalcraft Technologies is a full-service, vertically integrated, aerospace components manufacturer. We fabricate sheet metal parts, machine precision parts, process/finish parts, and build both major and minor assemblies.

JOB SUMMARY: Assembly Planner is responsible for understanding and improving the fabrication process for major assemblies by writing and maintaining clear and concise work instructions for production.  They will maintain the manufacturing bill of material in the MRP system and update planning documents to the latest engineering.  They will work closely with production to identify any process improvements and tooling changes that can be made to aid in the manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Generate and maintain work instructions for major assemblies and installations
  • Work with production to improve the assembly build process
  • Understand engineering drawings and process specifications
  • Maintain the manufacturing bill of material in the ERP system and on planning documents
  • Define detail part configuration for purchasing
  • Identify any tooling issues and improvements
  • Create and maintain tool work orders to facilitate the manufacturing process
  • Participate and incorporate Lean Manufacturing initiatives

SKILLS:

  • 2 - 8 years of aircraft manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of engineering and manufacturing documents
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
  • Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
  • Demonstrate professionalism and have effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
  • Understand and obey safety requirements
  • Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
  • Able to understand and communicate in English
  • Working knowledge of Employee Handbook
