JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Systems Manager focuses and coordinates activities of the Quality Systems Department, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.


  • Directs and coordinates activities within the Quality Systems Department to attain the MTI goals and objectives
  • Reviews activities and operations to determine the Quality Systems Department's progress toward MTI's stated goals and objectives
  • Develops and implements processes and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization
  • Collaborates with other MTI Managers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
  • Participates in formulating and administering MTI policies and developing long-range goals and objectives
  • Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization's current activities and its projected growth
  • Evaluates the results of the Quality System Department's operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the VP of Business Systems
  • Directs and over see's all Quality Systems functions at MTI
  • Publishes yearly audit schedule
  • Coordinates all customer and third party audits
  • Works closely with customers and customer service representatives to resolve quality concerns
  • Complete all required training and any additional training required by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Advanced leadership and managerial skills
  • Experience supervising, coaching and developing staff
  • Analytical skills and statistical background
  • Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
  • Working knowledge of MTI's traveler (router, bill of materials, etc.)
  • Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
  • Understand and obey safety requirements
  • Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
  • Able to understand and communicate in English
  • Writing technical documents, corrective action responses and other customer communication
  • Working knowledge of Employee Handbook

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Six years management experience in related field. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements at a ratio of two years post high school full time employment to one year of formal education.

EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
