JOB SUMMARY: The CMS technician inspects aircraft components using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and Laser Tracker. Interface with engineers, machinists, and other inspectors to provide feedback for the manufacture and inspection of aircraft parts and tooling.

Position is for night shift, Monday-Thursday 3:15pm-1:45am (training on day shift)


  • Interpret blueprints to insure proper CMM inspection
  • Program CMM to inspect parts
  • Operate CMM and Laser Tracker
  • Troubleshoot CMM programs
  • Complete all required training and any additional training required by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Problem solving/trouble shooting skills
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of CMM/Laser software
  • Knowledge of CMM operations, PCDMIS and GD&T tolerance
  • Knowledge of Laser Tracker operations, Spatial Analyzer and GD&T tolerance
  • Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of MTI's traveler (router, bill of materials, etc.)
  • Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player
  • Understand and obey safety requirements
  • Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
  • Able to understand and communicate in English
  • Working knowledge of Employee Handbook

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience in engineering, math or CAD/CAM helpful.

EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS: High school diploma or GED. Vocational/technical training, or Associates degree helpful.
